Climbing with Bristol Group
Our well established climbing programme enjoys numerous classic crags in our region such as:
- Wye Valley
- Avon Gorge
- Cheddar Gorge
- Symonds Yat
We organise climbs two evenings a week. Climbs are outdoors from April to September as daylight allows, and at indoor climbing walls during the winter.
- Tuesday: Outdoor (summer) / St Werburghs (winter)
- Thursday: Outdoor (summer) / The Climbing Academy (winter)
Walks are usually monthly, on the second Sunday of the month, to places such as:
- The Mendips
- The Cotswolds
- The Brecon Beacons
- The Quantocks
- Local winter walks
As with other Red Rope events, we share car transport, and some walks are arranged to use public transport. Monthly walks range from 7 to 12 miles, depending on the location and the season.
Bristol/SW is one of the few regions with an active group of Red Rope climbers.
