Most members live in and around Edinburgh, but others join from across Scotland. We use Scottish Mountaineering Club bunkhouses (“huts”) in various parts of the country.

Most of us are hill walkers and some are enthusiastic mountaineers and climbers (rock and ice). We are a thriving group with longstanding members and newer ones, and we welcome new members.

Edinburgh members run day walks in the Lothians, Borders and Fife. Glasgow members host day walks in the west. Climbers meet at EICA Ratho and Glasgow Climbing Centre, as well as outdoors. We meet socially occasionally, including pub nights and our social/AGM.
