LMC Hut Access for Red Rope Members

Red Rope has a hut-sharing agreement with the Lancashire Mountaineering Club (LMC).

Bookings for Organised Regional and National Trips

Group bookings resumed for both huts in September 2021. Please check Red Rope’s advice on hut use and Covid-19 precautions on the Trips page .

STOP PRESS (Sep 2021):
Individual key holders do not need to book, but must avoid dates with group bookings shown on the LMC calendar. You may need to share sleeping and communal space with other RR or LMC members. You must still notify the Bed-night Booker of your visit dates and the names/bands of your group.

LMC Huts

We have a modern well-equipped hut, Cae Ysgubor in Beddgelert, located centrally in the Snowdonia National Park and custom built for outdoor activities.

FAQs

  • Q. What huts are there? A. Cae Ysgubor (Beddgelert, North Wales) and The Loft (Blea Tarn, Langdales, Cumbria).
  • Q. Who can make bookings? A. National Trips Secretary, Regional Hut Bookers, or individual members, but only through the Bed-night Booker.
  • Q. Where can we see booked weekends? A. Calendars for both huts are on the LMC website.
  • Q. What bookings can we make? A. Up to 8 group-trip nights per year (national/regional), plus up to 200 individual bed-night bookings.
  • Q. Will we have exclusive use? A. Groups have exclusive use in theory, but RR groups should welcome LMC members if space permits.
  • Q. Who do we contact? A. bednight@redrope.org.uk — do NOT contact the LMC directly.
  • Q. How do we pay? A. RR pays for a minimum of 10 places on group trips.
    Group trip payments go to the LMC treasurer (details from Bed-night Booker).
    Individual bookings are paid to Red Rope after your stay.
